A delightful sweet sparkling sake from the Kuichi Brewery, the makers of Hitachino Nest Beer. The brewing process yields great acidity to balance out the sweetness. The initial taste offers up both the tartness and sweetness of tropical fruit, lychee, and lemon and lime zest, with an underbelly of umami.

Macerated strawberries, cloves and subtle chocolate on the nose. Fresh, deep, dark and juicy, with more strawberry, acai berry, red cherry and cloves. Bonfire, cloves and smoke with sweet red cherry and clove on the finish. Long and soft.

Fine, persistent and balanced, with delicate notes on the palate, distinct aromas of strawberry pulp and rose petal picked in the early morning. Extremely fresh and velvety, subtle and lingering finish.

This is a relatively light-bodied wine, showing great balance, a lithe texture and lip-smacking red-cherry and cranberry flavors. It would be a versatile pour at the dinner table.

The wine is bigger and bolder than its counterparts. It’s acidity and dry tannin are pronounced but balanced and should give the wine great longevity. It begins with aromas of red and black fruit, moving into earthy notes of cut dry brush with some herbal character and finishing with a slightly racy acid and bone dry tannin.

The wine has notes of black cherry, tomatoes, and balsamic with delicately integrated tannins. In Veneto this is drank at room temp but we like it with a bit of a chill. Unfined, unfiltered. Indigenous yeast ferment in concrete. Aged in old cherry and oak barrels. Grown in clay and volcanic soils and harvested late.

The nose is a combo of dark fruits and chocolate with notes of plum and black currants, elegant and full with a fresh balsamic finish given by the Sangiovese. A dense and powerful wine with ripe tannins, juicy and rich with a striking structure.

From the estates best site, the Halbuck, a terraced vineyard with poor loess soils on volcanic rock; grapes ripen more slowly than in other vineyards on the estate. This has more density, the weave is tighter and the wine more backward, but it is not taut. Rather there is a relaxed effortlessness to the seductively ripe red fruit, smooth fine tannins and long fresh finish.

A pungent nose is presently composed by notes of wood and reduction. On the plus side there is good freshness and energy to the bigger and more muscular flavors that also display a lovely mineral streak that extends to the sleek, succulent and slightly longer and more complex finale.

No doubt that 2020 called for some creative thinking. Durant (Chardonnay) and Weber (Pinot Noir), this limited wine was created as the world was forced to adapt and change. Earlier harvests on both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and create a still style of 'Champagne'; make no mistake, this rosé is bright and delicious. Light red fruit, acidity coupled with texture. YUM!

The three brothers of Bodega Cerrón are working to preserve older vineyards and indigenous varietals in their high altitude area of Jumilla, Spain. This joven Monastrell shows how even a simple mostly unoaked treatment of these grapes can yield a wine that is both a crowd pleaser and quite complex. A no brainer with a good steak or barbecue try this also with roast potatoes!

Gewürztraminer from the historic Sunnyside Vineyard is left to hang until the skins are a beautiful pink color and then the mist is soaked in those skins for maximum aromatic and color extraction. A dry wine it is still redolent on the nose of honeydew melon sprinkled with crushed dried rose petals.
