2018 marked our fourth year working with the Ricci Vineyard in the rolling hills of Los Carneros south of Scribe. In 2001, Dale Ricci planted this unique vineyard of the native Austrian St. Laurent on loam and alluvial clay. Harvested on September 28th, 2018, the grapes were native yeast fermented in stainless steel and concrete with 50% whole cluster & inclusion.

Rich and polished, with layers of plush fruit nicely framed by toasty oak. Well balanced, displaying forward aromas of black fruit, cranberry, lavender, chocolate, ginger, Asian spice and light wisps of tobacco and sage. The delicate violet and blue fruit qualities of Cabernet Franc are prettily evident. A smooth, velvety finish rounds out this inviting wine.

A dense, broody nose of dark berry fruit, subtle peppery spice and mocha oak influence commence, followed by a tightly packed palate dominated by dusty, powerful tannins. Still young and quite austere, this should unravel and evolve with time. Drink 2026-2040.

Founded in 1978 but a that has grape growing history going back to the 1800s. One of the original Napa Valley bordeaux blends, Trilogy is a classic. The 1997 is very extracted with aromas that suggest anise, black fruits and ripe dark cherries. It is rich in the mouth and expansive on the palate with ripe berry, black cherry, coffee and currant flavors dominating.

The grapes are sourced from a well respected Napa Valley growers. Aged 18-20 months in neutral French oak. Highly aromatic nose of dark fruits with hints of leather, tobacco and violets. On the palate a burst of plum, currant, black cherry and anise, with a subtle oak and soft, approachable tannins.

Black garnet color. Elegant aromas of red cassis, latex, cinnamon pastry, and black olives with a round, vibrant, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a warming, layered, long smoked meats, dates, chocolate, and licorice finish. A slightly savory Cabernet with excellent balance. They take great pride in their farming practices, both organic and biodynamic.

This incredibly pure, organically grown blend of Aglianico, Primitivo and Barbera hails from the sub-zone of Paestum in Campania on Italy's southern boot. This bottling has a striking personality, delivering layers of brandied cherry fruit, red plum, raspberry preserves and pomegranate molasses. Unfiltered and unoaked, this wine is direct in the most delicious of ways.

What a wine! This wine is made from the grape glera which is typically used to make Prosecco. In this instance it is used to make a still wine. Hence the name Fermo, which translates into English as, stationary. This wine is very aromatic and wonderfully textured.

This 2018 is surely on of our favorite vintages of Sangiovese in recent memory. Immensely expressive aromas with notes of fresh cream, red berry fruit and dark cherry. Layer after layer of ripe fruit please the palate, while a long smooth (creamy) finish gives balance to an otherwise fruit dominant wine. Though quite young, the use of older American Oak barrels has given this sense of poise and balance rarely seen at this stage.

Italian Merlot is often framed by two primary characteristics: dark fruit aromas (black fruits) and a savory, earthy complexity (herbal, truffle). Tellus Merlot exhibits a rich, plush mouthfeel from the long skin maceration of 18 days, with medium tannic structure enhanced by the use of Nevers barriques.

Tellus Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from Montecchio in the heart of Falesco’s estate in Umbria. Soils here are clay and calcareous, sitting at 300 meters ASL . Aromatics are fully developed with appropriate elevation while soils here produce a balanced Cabernet profile of moderate body, acidity and tannins. Flavors lean to ripe black fruits and tell-tale herbaceous notes.

Scents of bright red cherries mingle with strawberry and damp moss-like notes. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy, quite bold tannin, earthy and masculine with a classic, slightly marine-like finish, a tang of oyster shell on the aftertaste. Superb.

The 2017 Volnay Village has a playful, joyous bouquet with tart red cherries and crushed strawberry. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannin, brisk and breezy with the structure finally surfacing towards the finish. Enjoy over the next 12 to 15 years.
