The Emblem of Nimes depicted on the bottle shows a crocodile, representing Egypt, chained to a palm tree, representing a Roman victory between 28BC and 15AD. It has been Nimes' Emblem since 1535. Incredibly dense with notes of black currants, black olives and peppery spice. Concentrated, complex, yet elegant and harmonious. Great now with the aging potential for a couple years

La Puritita Verda" mezcal, produced by Pierde Almas, is a young, handcrafted mezcal made from 100% Espadín agave, known for its smooth, savory character with distinct smoky and earthy undertones, often described as a blend of sweet agave taste with a subtle smoke flavor; considered an approachable mezcal great for mixing in cocktails due to its balanced profile.

A delicate balance is achieved by the skillful blending of mellow grain whiskies and slightly peated malts. With impressive floral aromas, this expression offers an extremely silky mouthfeel and fruity flavors that rise and expand, leaving behind a delightful aftertaste.

Xoconostle y Azahar is a clean, bright, fragrant and intriguing expression of gin, combining indigenous desert cactus fruit with the floral notes of orange blossom and the zest of Mexican limes.

Costieres de Nimes is nestled between the Southern Rhone, Eastern Languedoc and Western Provence. Some incredible values are coming out of this under-appreciated French wine region. This white blend is a tribute to the former owner of the estate Paul Blanc. Lively flavors of lemon meringue and honeysuckle rounded out with solid minerality and a touch of oak.

Siembra Metl Espadin from la Familia Perez is produced by maestro Jorge Pérez and his mezcalero son Miguel Pérez. Jorge is well-known throughout Mexico, and is credited for teaching the art of mezcal production to many of the producers in the Rio de Parras region of Michoacán.

The nose is slightly spicy, reminiscent a little bit of Meursault. On the palate, a nice depth and a nice richness of flavors, always balanced with incisive complexity and a nice balance of freshness. I was delighted with each of these wines. A nice surge of flavor to finish here too. This wine has an aging potential of 10-15 years.
