Paolo Scavino Langhe Nebbiolo 201627.99Langhe, Italy100% Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo from two single vineyards in the village of La Morra, Bricco Manescotto and Annunziata, which accentuate the more ethereal and finer Nebbiolo’s aromatics and structure. These crus, that could be potentially used for Barolo, are declassified and the grapes vinified and aged to be Langhe Nebbiolo. A beautiful introduction to this noble grape and region.

Cavallotto Bricco Boschis, Barolo DOCG84.99

Earthy aromas of underbrush, truffle, wild berry, blue flower and a whiff of new leather emerge on this stunning wine. The succulent, full-bodied palate shows ripe raspberry, black cherry, licorice, clove and grilled herb alongside firm but velvety tannins.

Antoniolo Gattinara54.99Nebbiolo

Freshly cut flowers, red cherries and spices are some of the notes that emerge from this elegant, radiant Gattinara. There are no signs of greenness or hard edges anywhere in sight, yet the wine retains the mid-weight structure that differentiates Gattinara from other Nebbioli. This is supple, classy and engaging from start to finish.

2016 Proprieta Sperino Lessona80.99Alto-Piedmonte, Italy100% Nebbiolo

Thanks to the summer sun and the favorable climate, never too hot, in September the bunches had reached a perfect ripeness and on the sorting belt they arrived beautiful, juicy and healthy. The vintage, therefore, although characterized by a reduction in production, promises very elegant wines, with delicate aromas, minerals and remarkable freshness.

This amazing rose made in the northern reaches of Piedmont offers a redolence of mountain air, fresh cut herbs, spicy red fruit and salty minerals.

Movia Puro Rose 200664.99Slovenia

Natural wine at it's weirdest and most intriguing. Kept upside down because of cloudy sediment. Though, it can be opened and drank normally, you can also open in underwater, quickly tipping the bottle up to disgorge the sediment. Delicate flavor of wild fruit and rainier cherry with seashell mineral tones and savory spice. Pair with earthy dishes like sauteed mushrooms.

Foradori Fontanasanta Manzoni Bianco 201635.99Trento, ItalyManzoni Bianco

A cross of Riesling to Pinot Bianco, Fontanasanta Manzoni Bianco is a wine that will begin to reveal itself fully after two or three years from vintage. Fermentation on the skins in cement tank, followed by 12 months of aging in acacia casks.

Tenuta la Favola "NERO" Nero d'Avola 201618.99Sicily, ItalyNero d'Avola

Monte Bernardi Tzingarella21.99Tuscany, ItalyCabernet Sauvignon 40%, Merlot 40%, Cabernet Franc 15%, and Colorino 5%

This wine is pleasurable upon release, but can also be aged for greater complexity. This medium-bodied wine is packed with fruit that is richly complex and smooth. Its tannins, acidity and cherry soul are unmistakably Tuscan with the added character of fresh cassis, blackberries and minerality characteristic of Bordeaux.

2022 Jaimee Motley "Ascona Vineyard" Chenin BlancSanta Cruz Mountains, California, USA100% Chenin Blanc

An electric expression of domestic Chenin Blanc from one of California's top Natural wine producers: Jaimee Motley. The aromatics flow through lanolin, fresh beeswax, and crimson gold apple skin. Diel Kabinett Reisling19.99Nahe, Germany100% Riesling

A delicious and (again) perfectly balanced Riesling; glorious fragrance, talc and golden-delicious apples; I don’t remember a better edition of this wine; it’s the perfect classic not-hardly-sweet Kabinett. “Great drinkyness,” as Caroline says. Stretched taut but neither austere nor lean.

2016 Monastero Coenobium26.99Lazio, ItalyTrebbiano, Verdicchio, & Malvasia

The nose is fresh without being bright, with an underlying gentleness—evocative of autumn on multiple sensory levels. Aromas of fennel fronds, chamomile tea, fresh almonds, & tangerine lead into a full but delicately rendered palate. Glowing acidity lets the slightly savory flavors ring out & really coat the mouth, yet the overall impression is one of freshness & drinkability.

Ridge 2014 Monte Bello249.99Santa Cruz Mountains, CA75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot

There's too much to say about this wine but I'll start with noting that it's not only California's Greatest and most Historic Cabernet, but one of the finest and most collected in the world. It's also a wine that's immune to misguided trends and fads, with it stylistically remaining consistent over the last four decades. This is a iconic wine and vital to any serious collector. This elegant, legendary vintage shows intense fruit, limestone earth, and firm acid. It will be enjoyable over the next 15 to 30 years.
