Juicy red and brambly black fruits cavort with brooding notes of tapenade, warm saddle leather, freshly tilled earth, cigar wrapper, and exotic spices in this transparent yet complex ‘06 wine. Wrapping the palate with grippy tannins, this ’06 Rosso de Veo unfurls a sweet inner perfume that’s complemented by a sturdy mineral core.

Nosso comes from the vineyard Finca Menade, in Rueda, a plot with limestone – clay and stony soils and a plenty of pebbles. Prevention treatments 100% natural are used, like herbal infusions and whey. The grapes are hand-picked and brought in the winery where they are rigorously sorted. Indigenous yeasts starts the fermentation, and the wine undergo a malolactic fermentation,

The Gran Reserva 890 is the longest-aged wine in the excellent La Rioja Alta stable, with an impressive 6 years of aging in barrel followed by extensive aging in bottle. The result is a wine that is dark fruited, savory, and beginning to show tertiary notes, with an irresistible elegance and sense of balance.This is classic Rioja for drinking now or aging another decade or longer.

This bottle belongs to the 163rd Edition of Krug Grande Cuvee and is an extraordinary blend of 183 wines from 12 different years, the oldest from 1990 and the youngest from 2007. Sheer, absolute perfection, elegance and complexity equally important, flavours ranging from white fruits to nougat cream, exotic spices, toast and brioche. It is the very essence of Champagne, its greatest non-vintage wine.

The 2012 La Louviere Blanc has a lovely bouquet of white flowers, white peach and Japanese yuzu aromas that are very well defined and seem to gain intensity in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a rounded, waxy-textured entry. There is good weight in the mouth with touches of toffee apple and brioche toward the finish that.

East-facing, mid-slope, 250m altitude. Soil is deep, with higher clay content mixed with limestone and many small limestone rocks from bedrock. Sourced from a single vineyard in the commune of Milly-Lamartine, the soil here has a higher clay content than most of the other parcels in the commune.

Annual production ranges from 750 to 920 cases

Naturally exotic nose features notes of spiced tea, citrus blossom and a deft application of oak. There is good richness but also a lovely sense of underlying energy suffusing the refined and mineral-driven flavors that deliver fine persistence. This should be approachable young but also reward 4 to 7 years of cellaring.
