Petit Verdot is an amazing variety to make rosé out of too. Typically having small berries and thick colorful skins mean the wines are full bodied, full flavored and have a naturally bright pink hue.This rosé exhibits aromas and flavors of red fruits: strawberries, cranberries and red cherries rounded by a fresh clean palate and food friendly palate weight.

Own-rooted. immediate notes of graphite, black pepper, and olives, with an austerity and minerality that brings definition and focus to this wine. It has the best timbre and resonance of all the cuvees in 2013, making it a classical and authentic syrah.

Showing a thick and well-concentrated consistency, a hearty and bold creation. Cabernet aromas of green spice and dark blackberry are the most evident. After those you get sweeter, oak-driven aromas of tobacco and exotic spice. The mouthfeel is robust and supported by firm tannins. This is one of those quintessential red meat wines.

Full clusters fermented in large oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in a combination of vats and barrels for around 8mo. The nose shows bright berries, quite floral, aromatic and expansive with some aromas that made me think of carbonic maceration. The palate also shows nicely defined, fine tannins and pure flavors, very clean.

Still very young and you see the wild berry fruit in its wild phase. The minerality is more pronounced than in the Bruja, longer and more persistent, more refined. Full bunches ferment in oak vats with indigenous yeasts and the wines are matured in used 500L oak barrels for around one year. This is one of the most exciting projects in Spain at the moment.

A great little drinker from a top Châteauneuf-du-Pape producer. Vivacious ruby red colour. Good aromatic intensity on the nose with aromas of ripe fruits, red-fruit coulis and hints of fresh licquorice. The palate offers good volume, is rich and endowed with silky tannins. Good amplitude in the middle palate which leads onto a long finish where the licquorice aromas persist.

The 2011 Rezet is made with the very best selection of grapes to produce the ultimate expression of Vernaccia. The result is a white wine with intoxicating aromas of orchard fruits, fresh hay and citrus oil. Vibrant on the palate with flavors of pear, honey crisp apple, fresh fig and red currant backed by hints of toasted vanilla bean and white pepper. Salinity & minerality.

This is a flagship wine from this historic producer. Produced from biodynamically grown grapes, it is poised between richness and elegance. A tense texture comes from the youth of the wine. Its potential shows in the richness and in the hints of minerality from the chalk soil.

Mormoria Vernaccia Rezet is a crisp, fresh, wine exhibiting notes of stone fruit, gooseberry, lemon zest, stone fruit and a saline minerality reminiscent of a French sauvignon blanc. Mormorai wines are grown organically, hand harvested and hand crafted.

Noblaie's rosé is produced from younger Cabernet Franc vines, which are planted in the deeper soils at the base of the hillside vineyard. It has a clear and smooth pink color, deep, rich aromas of watermelon and cranberry and loads of lovely fresh red fruits on the palate. Nate's favorite of 2015 and it is still drinking beautifully!

“Rioja Corriente” is an expression from the turn of the century, referring to a pure, unclassified wine meant for everyday drinking. Bush vines in the cool Lanciego zone within Rioja Alavesa on flat shallow soils that are stony, calcareous, and low in nutrients. With some rusticity and character, mixing berries and hints of orange peel, just a pinch of spices.

Starts with sweet milk sugar and chocolate flavor with a rich, creamy mouthfeel that is quite smooth. Finishes smooth with roasted malt and coffee flavors coming to the fore front with a touch of vanilla at the very end.

Nose is a standard porter base of some darker roast and chocolate malts, some dark fruit, and leather. Taste is dry, not sour, but with a rustic earthy quality to the flavor which includes some cocoa, leather, dark, brambly fruit and seeds (though nothing I’d call out as blackberry). Solid and interesting beer.
