The soil here is composed of limestone and the climate is harshly continental with the high elevation playing a major role in the end wine. The grapes are foot-trodden in small plastic tubs, and fermentation begins with wild yeasts, spontaneously in used 500L French oak barrels. Beautiful vino tinto with notes of black and red fruits, aromatic herbs, and earth.

The Commanderie de Peyrassol was founded by the Knights of Templar. The first recorded harvest took place in 1256 and winemaking has continued uninterrupted since. The elite cuvée of the estate, harvested from the oldest vines of the domaine, this Rosé is produced via the “direct press” method and has a long cuvaison designed to produce a wine of character and concentration.

RPM was conceived in 2010 and is a collaboration between Nathan Roberts and Duncan Arnot Meyers of Arnot-Roberts and Rajat Parr of Sandhi Wines. The goal of rpm is to produce world class Gamay Noir from the granitic soils of California’s Sierra Foothills. Loaded with lifted red and blue fruits tinged with a touch of stony minerality and bright aromatics.

Freshness and vibrancy characterize this light-hued Rose hailing from Sonoma Coast. Lifted aromas of rose petal, grapefruit zest and hints of wild strawberry echo this fresh and savory aromatics of its coastal origins. On the palate, layers of juicy pink grapefruit, fresh-cut watermelon and a stony minimality are supported by a thorough line of vivid acidity and refreshing finish.

Faust is the epitome of the style that has made Napa Cabernet Sauvignon world renowned: bold and powerful, yet elegant and concentrated. Dense and inky, the core is a beautiful, rich ruby color. The aromas lift out of the glass with blackberry, black cherry, ripe raspberry and tea leaf. The entry is impressive with a fleshy mouthfeel and notes of cassis, dark chocolate.

You may not find many Nebbiolos as unpretentious as this one. Brickish in color, Silvio’s lovely version emphasizes the floral components of the grape, with the tar, smoke, and earth lingering in the background.
