Powerful nose, blackcurrant enriched with touches of red berries, especially strawberry. In the mouth, tannins are soft ending in a spicy, chocolate-y finish.

Offers a grippy feel, with taut licorice and tar notes stretching from start to finish. Ripe plum, raspberry and blackberry fruit flavors fill in the core, while hints of anise and juniper hang in the background. The finish reveals a bolt of graphite. Should age very nicely. Garnet to the eye, this wine has a nose of black cherry, pomegranate, white chocolate and cigar box. Flavors of cherry and pipe tobacco with a hint of freshly zested orange wrapped in soft tannins remain on the palate through the final notes of chocolate-covered espresso bean.

The 2013 growing season is producing wonderful wines although it was dry, conditions at bud break and harvest were perfect. This claret is a wonderful value from Napa offering a very nicely balanced wine that is a show stopper. Aromas of red fruits blend with the soft stucture through the mid-palate balance with the notes of espresso and cassis. Toasted notes on finish.

This wine is a great value it is hard to get this kind of complexity under $20 but this one delivers. Dark deep and rich berry flavors are enriched with leather and light traces of tobacco. Fresh red berry and spicecake aromas are complemented by deeper hints of cola and licorice. Silky and focused, showing good lift and cut to its tangy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors. The 2012 Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah has aromas of cassis, red currants and tart cherries followed by floral and dark berry characters. Tannins are fine yet firm and are well-balanced with the acidity and creaminess of the wine. Dark berry flavors continue on the palate mingled with toast and sweet spice notes on the finish.

Our goal was to apply small lot high end winemaking practices in the production of this wine. To that end the grapes were harvested in late Sept to ensure optimal ripeness. The fermentation was managed for maximum fruit extraction and to develop velvety tannins. The resulting wine is an amazingly rich and exceptionally smooth.

Brilliant straw-yellow in color, enhanced by the perlage. The fruity flavors of pears, apples and peaches dissolve into floral notes, with a hint of citrus fruit and an aromatic quality that is fresh and rich in sensations. To pair with fish and vegetables hors d'oeuvres, first courses of seafoods and baked fish. Perfect as an aperitif as well.
